Last week, a tragic train accident occurred in the Netherlands when a train collided with a small construction crane on the tracks.
As a provider of advanced monitoring solutions, Orbital Eye has been closely monitoring the affected area, where pipelines belonging to some of our customers are located. With our satellite-based monitoring solution, we were able to detect not only the derailed train wagons, but also the broader aftermath of the incident.
This allows our customers to monitor the ongoing repair works and assess whether these activities may have an impact on their pipeline infrastructure. For example, we observed that vehicles and machinery used for the repair works were brought on-site via a newly created access road crossing the pipeline.
